Independence Day Celebration



Delhi Public School, Bopal- Ahmedabad celebrated the 77th Independence Day and observed the theme ‘Nation First Always First’ as declared by the Government of India. The school organized a series of events to encompass the spirit of nation’s historic struggle for freedom.


The celebrations began with great pomp and grandeur where the students were briefed with the discovery of the essence of independence. The march past by the Student Council  instilled in them the patriotic spirit.


The Director, Ms Vandana Joshi and the Principal Ms Sabina Sawhney along with the Special Guest were ushered by the Student Council to hoist the National flag. The Principal addressed the gathering and laid emphasis on ‘Each One support One’ along with the basic values of sacrifice, hard-work, honesty, character building and cleanliness that should be imbibed by each and every student.


The special guest Mr. Jayprakash Patel, Cricket Coach, and recipient of Gujarat Gaurav Award, emphasized the significance of the day and how this day symbolizes the dawn of new era of self- governance, sovereignty and democracy to every citizen and youth of the nation.


Following the speech, the cultural programme was commenced with a splendid and impassioned rendition by a group of students, who narrated the saga of the selflessness of our martyrs and their sacrifices to gain this priceless freedom. The patriotic songs sung by the students from the core of their heart invigorated the feeling of pure devotion and respect for the nation. Thereafter, an enthralling dance performance marked a tribute to our freedom fighters and our defense personnel further gathered momentum for the occasion.


Several activities showcasing the creativity, ingenuity and imagination of the students were organized. All the class bulletin boards and the entire school campus were adorned with the theme of patriotism. The 77th Independence Day was observed with great solidarity. The celebrations transcended every diversity to set in the tune of unity, hymns of harmony and equality that instilled in every Dipsite the reverence for freedom.
