'Best out of Waste' Competition Promoting Sustainable Consumption (SDG 12) Interhouse 'Best out of Waste' competition was conducted for students of classes VI-VIII in an effort to promote sustainable consumption and raise awareness about the importance of recycling and upcycling. The event aimed to align with Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12) Responsible Consumption and Production. The competition took place as an on-the-spot event with three participants from each house, making it an engaging inter-house competition. The participants were tasked with the challenge of crafting utility items from these materials, encouraging them to think outside the box and consider innovative solutions. Throughout the competition, students demonstrated not only their artistic abilities but also their commitment to sustainability. They showcased their resourcefulness and creativity by transforming old garments into a range of useful items such as tote bags, wall hangers, and decorative cushions. In conclusion, the 'Best out of Waste' competition was a resounding success, fostering a sense of responsibility and sustainability among our students while promoting the principles of SDG 12. It served as a reminder that small actions, such as upcycling old clothes, can contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
